Multiple people were stabbed at a Walmart near Traverse City, Mich., on Saturday afternoon, according to the Michigan State Police.
A total of 11 people were being treated for injuries at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, said Megan Brown, the chief communications officer for Munson Healthcare, which runs Munson Medical Center.
The hospital was still assessing the victims’ injuries, she said. She did not describe the nature of those injuries.
One person was in custody, the State Police said on social media a little after 6 p.m. local time, adding that details about what happened were limited.
Emergency responders were on the scene and there was no danger to the public, Grand Traverse 911 said on Facebook.
The post asked residents to avoid Walmart and other businesses in the area.
